Job Description:

This role will collaborate with engineering, production, quality and safety teams to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively. They will assist with daily operations within quality, engineering, production and administrative duties.

Further Description of Job Duties:

  • Workflow Management
    • Tracking flow of work orders through ERP system
    • Maintaining accuracy of work orders
    • Planning daily/weekly job flow through equipment and team members
  • Quality Measures
    • Inspect products and processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement
    • Review in-process quality checks
    • Ensure all product is properly inspected and meets all requirements prior to delivery to QC
    • Monitor processes and perform adjustments to ensure product quality
  • Improvements
    • Revise documents, processes or methods to correct and improve process/product
  • Troubleshooting
    • Identify and fix problems that arise during the production process
    • Work with members of the team to identify and solve problems
    • Finding solutions to process problems using tools like an 8D, TPS, 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis
  • Administrative
    • Complete Paperwork accurately
    • Enter data into computer systems
  • Communicate with the team
    • Coordinate efforts to meet production goals
    • Communicate expectations, assignments and responsibilities clearly and professionally
    • Communicate company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team
    • Be an effective leader
    • Listen/relate to employees concerns and work with them
  • Process Development
    • Create, modify, and test process variations for new and existing products
    • Create solutions to complex technical problems in manufacturing cell of production
    • Assist in process design, development, and production of fixtures and set up equipment
    • Perform audits of production and process capability; monitor process using floor metrics
    • Making observations, taking measurements, collecting & interpreting data, and making decisions with other team members
    • Ensuring the process works at the optimum level, at the right rate and quality
  • Machine Operations
    • Expected to do machine operations or inspector duties as assigned in addition to technician level responsibilities.
    • Assist with the manufacturing process including material changes
    • Assist others in setting up, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to minimize equipment downtime
  • Analysis of Data
    • Assisting with costing analysis and process flow
    • Prepare and conduct experiments and collect and record data
    • Utilizing and preparing reports, diagrams and charts to measure and assess manufacturing productivity
    • Calculate or record results during experiments
  • Safety
    • Follow safety measures including handling chemicals safely and wearing PPE.
    • 5S and general organization of your area
    • General Cleaning
  • Maintenance
    • Perform the required preventative maintenance operations for machines, fixtures and devices in your area
  • Documentation
    • Enter accurate information into log books, spreadsheets and on work orders
    • Completing transactions in ERP computer system
  • Other Essential functions
    • Work under strict time lines and complete tasks and repairs in a timely manner to limit service interruptions or equipment down time
    • Multi-task between various projects
    • Be able to work independently and be self-motivated
    • Cross-training, learning and teaching different processes
    • Follow verbal and written direction
    • Other duties as assigned

Pay Range:

Base Wages: $25.00-$35.00 an hour

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job an employee may sit, stand, stoop, crawl, or kneel for 6 to 12 hours a day. Regularly walking and navigating between areas and occasionally going up and down a short ladder or step stool. They will regularly be working around moving mechanical parts with proper guarding. The work is done in a climate controlled building. Noise levels are moderate and below OSHA thresholds. Various chemicals are used to complete the tasks at hand and proper PPE must be worn. Regular lifting up to 30 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and participating in team lifts. Lifting from floor to shelf or carrying items short distances.

Skills/Qualification/Education:

Skills/Abilities Preferred

  • 4-year engineering or technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience, LEAN and six sigma training, understanding of production flow and machining principles, Solid Works or CAD software, basic CAM knowledge.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
